In this issue, the Party member pioneer we launched is Gong Deming, the founder of Dalian Kedi Video Technology Co., Ltd.

An 80 year old party member active on the front line of entrepreneurship

Gong Deming, the founder of Dalian Kedi Video Technology Co., Ltd., is an 80 year old party member. As an elderly entrepreneur and an excellent representative of the party building work in the entrepreneurship park, he has been active in the front line of entrepreneurship. Throughout his journey, his entrepreneurial journey and patriotism have been deeply moving.

Having taught for thirty years, the world is filled with peach and plum blossoms

Gong Deming was born in 1940 in Dalian. In 1959, he was admitted to Xi'an Military Telecommunications Engineering College (now renamed Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology). After graduating from university in 1964, he stayed on as a teacher, mainly engaged in scientific research and teaching in the direction of antennas and radio wave propagation. In 1964, he joined the CPC.

Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology is a national defense institution. After living in this school with military background for a long time, Professor Gong has also developed the military spirit, being rigorous, serious, and resilient in his work. He has been involved in the development of antennas on submarines and missiles.

Professor Gong mentioned to us a memorable experience during his teaching. In 1972, the school recruited a group of college students from different social classes, including workers, peasants, and soldiers, with varying levels of academic foundation. Some students had poor foundations and could not accept the content taught by their teachers, causing chaos in the classroom. Many teachers were "blasted" off the podium. At that time, the school leaders found the palace teacher and entrusted him with this task. After taking over, the first thing he did was to understand the situation of each student. His sentence of "teaching according to one's aptitude" also ignited the hope of learning for many "coaxing students". In class, he strives to express rigorous scientific questions in plain language and not let any student fall behind. Professor Gong said that during his teaching period, he formed deep friendships with many students and later became good friends and partners.

Returning to my hometown, returning to my hometown, and seeing nostalgia for retirement and entrepreneurship

Due to family reasons, he decided to return to Dalian for development in 1992. When he learned that he was leaving Xi'an, the president of Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology repeatedly urged him to stay, but his nostalgia for his hometown strengthened his belief in returning. He refused the president's invitation and left Xi'an, where he had studied and worked for more than 30 years, with tears in his eyes, embarking on the path of returning.

After returning to Dalian Maritime University, he came to work at the Research Office, responsible for the management and coordination of the school's scientific research work. Although he no longer engaged in scientific research on the front line, he remained diligent and responsible in his management position. During this period, he undertook and completed several major national projects, and retired in 2000. Many people choose to enjoy a comfortable time after retirement, playing chess, dancing square dances, or going out to see the world every day. Few people have the motivation to continue working after retirement. But Professor Gong not only didn't enjoy his leisure time, but also chose to do something very hard, which is entrepreneurship!

Professor Gong mentioned that in 1995, due to work reasons, he was seconded to the Dalian High tech Zone Entrepreneurship Service Center for almost a year. During this period, in the process of providing services to enterprises, he witnessed firsthand the passion and courage of entrepreneurs. He greatly admired these people, and it was at that time that he planted the seed of "entrepreneurship" in his heart - to transform his years of learning and research into products that can truly bring value to society.

When he first retired, Professor Gong helped his students start their own businesses. In 2003, he co founded his own company with three partners - Dalian Kedi Video Technology Co., Ltd., mainly engaged in the research and development of video signal switching, transmission, and processing products, covering fields such as broadcasting and television, professional audiovisual, and security monitoring.

Based on its technological advantage and customer-centric strategy, the company has maintained rapid development for over 10 years since its establishment. Its products are distributed across various provinces and cities across the country, as well as industries and fields such as military, national security, public security, law enforcement, fire protection, finance, transportation, prisons, water conservancy, electricity, education, medical care, and intelligent buildings. They are widely used in broadcasting and control, video conferencing, emergency command, signal monitoring and other systems, especially in key projects such as earthquake relief, Beijing Olympics, Shanghai World Expo, Guangzhou Asian Games, Xiamen BRICS Conference, Hangzhou G20 Summit, and international aerospace, further establishing Dalian Kedi's leading position in the industry.

At present, Kodi's headquarters is located in Dalian High tech Zone, with offices set up in Beijing, Nanjing, Shenzhen, Chengdu and other places. Its marketing and service network covers the whole country, providing customers with fast and high-quality services. Kodi has established close cooperative relationships with over 600 integrators and engineering companies, and its products are applied in 34 provinces and regions across the country and exported to multiple countries, serving over 300000 domestic and international users.

As one of the founders, Professor Gong plays a crucial role in the development of the company. During the peak period of development, the company has a maximum of more than 100 employees. From technology to management, from employee development to party and youth building, he has personally worked, established regulations, and led Kodi to continuously standardize management in accordance with the ISO9001 international quality system. By implementing an integrated product management system and carefully constructing product quality, the company uses advanced processes to standardize product research and development, production, sales, and user service systems, achieving efficient process operation and ensuring high-quality delivery under various conditions. Under his leadership, the company has achieved rapid development, with multiple products included in the National Torch Plan and National Key New Products, and receiving support and rewards from multiple national and provincial projects.

Grasp Party building, offer love, and do good deeds to give back to society

In recent years, due to his age, Professor Gong has gradually slowed down his work pace and only works half a day. However, as an old party member, he also takes the lead in managing the company's party and mass construction work. The company's party branch was established in November 2007. At the beginning of its establishment, it led the majority of party members and employees to effectively change their mindset, and led the company's development with party building. Under the leadership of the Party Committee of Dalian Entrepreneurship Park, Dalian Kedi has been closely following the pace of Party building in Dalian High tech Zone for many years, actively participating in various activities held in the park, implementing enterprise Party building work in practice, seeking practicality and innovation, and contributing its own strength to the construction of a beautiful High tech Zone. Dalian Kedi Party Branch has been awarded the title of "Advanced Grassroots Party Organization" multiple times.

Professor Gong said, "As someone who has truly walked through the era of war, I truly understand that it was the Communist Party that led the Chinese people to defeat the aggressors and live a happy life. Therefore, we must be grateful to the Party. As enterprises, we must also do our humble efforts, do more good deeds, and give back to society." Therefore, the Cody Party branch has persisted in organizing public welfare activities for many years, allowing happiness and warmth to spread on this land.

In February 2018, the Dalian Kedi Party Branch organized party members of the company to go to the Dalian Starfire Autism Support Center to carry out a warm welcome activity. Understand the daily life and learning situation of children, perform and interact with them, and donate a large amount of food and supplies for their daily needs. I hope to provide more warmth and healthy growth for vulnerable children in this way, and I also wish these children who are not good at expressing themselves to use their creativity and imagination to depict a beautiful future in their hearts.

In April 2018, under the call and leadership of the Dalian Entrepreneurship Park Party Committee, the Dalian Kedi Party Branch went to Dalu Primary School in our city, which is located in remote rural areas and has backward teaching software and hardware conditions. They donated modern teaching equipment such as smart blackboards and distributed books, stationery and other learning materials to children, helping rural primary schools achieve information-based teaching as soon as possible and allowing children to enjoy the fruits of modern education. Professor Gong said that this donation to aid students activity has made the party members of Kodi deeply realize that while achieving corporate development, they should vigorously repay society, fulfill their corporate responsibilities, and use the power of role models to drive other industries to participate in poverty alleviation and assistance activities. With the momentum of accumulating knowledge, they can help more students grow up healthy and happy. At the same time, we sincerely hope that children can hold onto their dreams, strive for self-improvement, achieve themselves, and give back to society.

In July 2019, a landslide occurred in Jichang Town, Shuicheng County, Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province, causing serious damage to the lives and property of the local people. Liupanshui City is a targeted assistance city for Dalian City. Kodi Company has been providing targeted assistance to Shuicheng Town for many years. After the disaster, the company's party branch immediately responded to the call of the entrepreneurship park and organized all employees to donate and show love to the local disaster stricken people. The company leaders set an example and led the way in donating money. All employees gathered to raise 12000 yuan in just one day. The Kodi people spread the warmth of life through practical actions and in the name of love, without hesitation, to become a river; The fine soil will become Mount Taishan Mountain. Every bit of good deeds will eventually converge into a sea of great love. When asked about Professor Gong's feelings about organizing this donation afterwards, Professor Gong firmly said, "Helping the needy is the social responsibility of enterprises. Dalian Kedi Video Technology Co., Ltd. will continue to actively promote the traditional virtue of 'one side facing difficulties, eight sides supporting', and be a participant and practitioner of public welfare.".

Good deeds create harmony, and love inherits virtues. Professor Gong, an 80 year old veteran party member, is still active on the front line of entrepreneurship, creating value for the enterprise and society. Grasp a young heart, measure the length of life with never-ending steps, and ignite the brilliant light of life with a trickle of love. The old hero, with a thousand miles in his mind, saw from Professor Gong the figure of a Communist Party member with lofty aspirations and diligent dedication.
