Solution for the Broadcasting Front End System of Jiaonan Radio and Television Station

In response to the call of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television and to accelerate the process of digital system transformation, Dalian Kedi has implemented a targeted digital transformation solution for the broadcasting front-end system based on the needs of Jiaonan Radio and Television Station and the actual situation of the existing equipment in the station: Kd8100-S1602 dual channel time-based high-definition signal broadcasting switcher based on HD-SDI signal.


Due to the expansion of its business scope, Jiaonan Radio and Television Station now needs to add a digital hard disk broadcasting system for two channels. Dalian Kedi, relying on leading technology in the broadcasting industry and past practical experience, proposes a solution to switch signals using HD-SDI digital high-definition matrix, and uses a hard disk server combined with an HD-SDI dual channel time-based high-definition signal broadcasting switch to broadcast the front-end.


The equipment for the Dalian Kedi Broadcasting Front End System in this solution includes 2 Kd8600-3232E HD-SDI high-definition signal matrices with equalization function, 2 Kd8100-S1602 dual channel time-based HD-SDI high-definition signal broadcast switches, 2 Kd6800 series HDA-6801R HD-SDI high-definition signal 1/8 modules with equalization and clock recovery, and 2 LDC6800HD-LK HD-SDI high-definition signal platform standard keying all-in-one machines, 4 ECO-HD-2 dual channel HD-SDI high-definition signal automatic switchers, and BG-40 synchronous signal generators. Compared with traditional solutions, Dalian Kedi's broadcasting front-end system is based on HD-SDI signals, switching signals through HD-SDI digital high-definition matrices, and using a hard disk server combined with an HD-SDI dual channel time-based high-definition signal broadcasting switcher to broadcast the front-end solution, eliminating signal loss caused by A/D conversion. In addition, the Kd8100-S1602 dual channel time-based HD-SDI high-definition signal broadcasting switcher adopts a dual channel digital time-based design, achieving arbitrary switching of program broadcasting signals without jitter or flicker, ensuring that the switching screen is as complete as possible. The entire system adopts the form of primary and backup switching, which greatly improves the stability and reliability of the broadcasting system while optimizing the system and reducing costs. Even if one channel fails, the other channel can still broadcast in a timely manner, making the operation of the entire system safer.


Kd8100-S1602 dual channel time-based high-definition signal broadcasting switcher broadcasting front-end system specific functional description:


Supports switching and transmission of 1080i50Hz/60Hz digital high-definition video signals at a bitrate of 1.485Gbps, and is backward compatible with SDI serial digital signals of different bitrates;


Dual channel digital time base design, which can achieve arbitrary switching of program playback (PGM) signals without jitter or flicker;


Program pre monitoring (PST) signal, optional with digital and analog video monitoring output;


The mute switching function can completely eliminate the noise generated during switching, achieving the mute requirement;


Dual bus design, with two output buses for program pre monitoring (PST) and program broadcasting (PGM), and both program pre monitoring (PST) and program broadcasting (PGM) are allocated with two outputs;


One click control, using dual digit LED display, execute (TAKE) one click control program pre monitoring (PST) and program broadcast (PGM) status switching;


Support external synchronization video signal phase-locked REF, field reverse switching, and can maintain the maximum possible completeness of the switching screen instantly;


Adaptive input serial digital signal cable equalization, under the condition of Belden 1694A cable (or equivalent cable) with a bit rate of 1.485Gbps, can transmit 150 meters, effectively solving the problem of digital signal transmission;


It has a direct power outage function to ensure that in the event of an unexpected power outage, the last source signal of the broadcast switch automatically jumps to the emergency output of the program broadcast (PGM) channel to avoid signal interruption;


It has a power failure memory function. When the device suddenly loses power during operation and restarts, its corresponding switching output state will remain in memory, the same as before the power failure, without any changes, and does not need to be reset;


It has multiple RS-232 serial ports and can be modified to RS-422 and RS-485 serial ports according to customer needs. The switch can be controlled through multiple panels, central control, and computers;


Supports network TCP/IP (Ethernet) control, allowing for control switching of different permissions based on preset network addresses and enable passwords;


Supports 90~260V/AC, 50/60Hz redundant waste heat backup power supply, ensuring uninterrupted power supply for equipment, making it safer and more reliable.
